From zero to your first recovered dollars in ten minutes

Five steps. The first two need nothing but a terminal.

  1. 1

    See what your sessions cost

    1 min

No account, no upload. The CLI reads the transcripts Claude Code already keeps on your machine and prints spend by model and project, cache efficiency, and the findings with dollar estimates.

    npx readyclaw scan --days 30

Needs Node 22 or newer. Add --json to get the report as data.

  2. 2

    Get a first fix in

    2 min

Most setups leak from three lines in ~/.claude/settings.json: a superseded subagent model, a 1M-context default, and effort pinned high. Headroom shows exactly which apply to you and applies the ones you choose, with a backup.

    npx readyclaw headroom --apply

Answer y or N per change. Restart Claude Code afterwards.

  3. 3

Keep the history in your dashboard

    2 min

Sign in with a magic link, create an API key on Setup, then log the CLI in and sync. Each sync uploads per-day and per-session totals plus findings; prompts and code stay on your machine. The free plan keeps 7 days, Pro keeps everything.

    npx readyclaw login rc_YOUR_KEY
    npx readyclaw sync --days 90

Re-run sync whenever you want fresh numbers. A finding that disappears between syncs counts as recovered.

  4. 4

    Install the desktop app

    1 min

The tray shows the live session's context, notifies you when a session passes 200k/400k/700k tokens, and, on Pro, turns on the guard so Claude Code offers /compact before a bloated session gets more expensive. Paste the same API key on its Account tab.

    Download for macOS or Windows
  5. 5

    Get the digest

    30 sec

On Setup, turn on the daily or weekly email: yesterday's spend against the previous period, the top findings, anything new at Anthropic that changes what your sessions cost, and an alert if a day exceeds your budget.

    Open Setup
