Toolkit

Skills, automations and a plugin that make Claude Code cheaper to run

Each item targets a finding the dashboard measures. Install any of them headlessly with the CLI (no account, no app), or all at once as a Claude Code plugin. Signed-in users see which are installed on each machine.

  • Skill

    Context hygiene

Keeps every turn cheap by keeping the conversation small.

A skill Claude Code loads automatically: when to compact, when to start fresh, what never to paste.

    npx readyclaw toolkit install context-hygiene
  • Skill

    Handoffs between sessions

A fresh session at 10k tokens instead of a 500k one resumed.

Teaches the 40-line HANDOFF.md; with the plugin, /handoff writes it for you.

    npx readyclaw toolkit install handoff-between-sessions
  • Skill

    Delegate bulk reading

Sweeps and mechanical loops run on a cheaper model; only the conclusion comes back.

How to brief a subagent and which tier to give it.

    npx readyclaw toolkit install delegate-bulk-reading
  • Skill

    Read tool output cheaply

Stops 60k-character results from riding along in every later turn.

head/tail/grep habits, line ranges, and the 10k-token threshold.

    npx readyclaw toolkit install reading-tool-output-cheaply
  • Skill

    Model per task

Top tier only where it pays; mid tier for the loop; cheap tier for grunt work.

The split, and the settings pins that quietly pick old models.

    npx readyclaw toolkit install model-per-task
  • Automation

    Context guard and advisor

Claude Code is told, at the moment it matters, to /compact, start fresh after a cold resume, hand bulk reading to an Explore subagent, stop re-reading a file, move a tool-only loop to Sonnet, or plan first.

Three small hooks in ~/.claude/settings.json (backup written). Each piece of advice is given once per session, not every turn. Prompts, commands and file writes that carry a credential are blocked before they are sent; nothing else is rewritten.

    npx readyclaw guard on
  • Automation

    Daily sync

Dashboard, digests and finding history stay current without remembering to run sync.

A launchd job on macOS, Task Scheduler on Windows, cron on Linux, at 09:17 local.

    npx readyclaw toolkit install sync-daily
  • Plugin

    The readyclaw plugin

Everything above plus /handoff and /headroom, updated through Claude Code's plugin system.

    Run inside Claude Code.

    /plugin marketplace add phoenixtype/readyclaw-skills
    /plugin install readyclaw@readyclaw

Headless and CI use

Everything works without the dashboard or the desktop app: readyclaw scan --json for data, readyclaw check --max-usd 50 --days 7 exits non-zero over budget (drop it in cron or CI), readyclaw guard on and readyclaw toolkit install … configure a machine from a script, and readyclaw sync --quiet runs from a scheduler.
